Video Projects

A sample of video projects I planned and produced for Giant Bicycles USA. While video production is no longer a key aspect of my current position, I work closely with the larger marketing team providing edits and insights on an ongoing basis.

Pisgah, NC X ToughRoad

Starring our North Carolina sales rep and coach for the local university cycling team in Brevard, NC, this video was a blast to shoot. The goal was to highlight Giant’s new ToughRoad bike and accompanying bike packing gear. I coordinated logistics, secured permits and was on site for the entire shoot, taking still images and directing the video crew. Perhaps the hardest part was securing song rights for the brilliant Rural Alberta Advantage soundtrack. This film coincided with the U.S. product launch of the ToughRoad.

Virgin, UT X Reign X Status

This is a perfect example of getting out of the way and letting the riders tell their story in their own way. I coordinated this shoot with Nitro Circus stars Dusty Wygle and Ethen Roberts. With a bus they borrowed from the Diesel Brothers, a pair of new Reign enduro bikes and our new Status full face helmet, these guys turned out a heck of a film. This was targeted to Giant’s younger, rowdier demographic. We built custom 26” wheels for the bikes and featured the film on Pinkbike.com in conjunction with our planned digital campaign.

Whistler, CA X Reign

Another Dusty Wygle and Ethen Roberts film. I planned and produced this fun edit in conjunction with Crankworx Whistler, a large mountain bike festival and race series that takes place all across the world. We had riders and bikes, why not coordinate a quick shoot to highlight one of our key products for 2017, the new Giant Reign? This little sleeper is one of my favorite edits.

Mount Desert Island, ME X Adam Craig X TCX

A contemplative edit featuring ex-Olympian Adam Craig, this film was for Giant’s Ride Life video series. Our focus was on the riding in Maine as well as Adam Craig’s career and the all-road versatility of the TCX series of bikes. I handled all logistics for the shoot and was on site taking still images for ad campaigns while directing the video crew. We rented an air BnB for everyone and Adam’s father hung out with us the entire time. Look for his cameo at 1:31!

Issaquah X Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance

A lot of logistics went into this shoot, highlighting the town of Issaquah, local retailers and the work of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. This was another film in Giant Let’s Ride series. I planned and was on hand for the shoot, taking still images to support the video and ad campaigns. This dual branded video featured both Giant and Liv bike models to increase it’s reach.

Chefs Cycle X No Kid Hungry

One of the organizations that Giant USA supports is Chef’s Cycle for No Kid Hungry. This small but growing group of culinary professionals raises an astonishing amount of money to provide healthy meals for children. I coordinated all aspects of the shoot and was on site, directing the video crew, taking photos and managing every other aspect of the film. While not particularly consumer facing, this edit helped to consolidate our support of a highly influential clientele.
